Mike Wallace Turned down $76 million from Vikings

We all know Mike Wallace as one of the NFL's highest paid free agents of the off-season. And after reading USA Today, this blogger found out that Mike Wallace III claimed his son turned down $76 million in total money from the Minnesota Vikings during the 2013 free-agency period. The Vikings, who signed Greg Jennings and additionally drafted Cordarrelle Patterson in April's draft, was considered one of the main options for Wallace's services prior to his commitment to Miami.

However, Wallace decided on the Dolphins—who went 7-9 and missed the playoffs in the AFC—over the Vikings—who went 10-6 and lost in the NFC Wild Card Round to the Green Bay Packers.

Confused? So are we, but Wallace said that it's not about the money and he just wants to be happy. Good luck with the Dolphins, Wallace!

Jeff George is the Minnesota Vikings "Guest Coach"

We would all like to welcome Jeff George to the Vikings as he will be sitting in on quarterback meetings! George will be returning to Vikings headquarters nearly fifteen years later after he threw his last pass for the Vikings in 1999. According to NFL.com, George will be taking on a mentoring role with Christian Ponder. However, word on the street is that George has earned the reputation of being a me-first coach. We will see how Ponder takes this mentorship; I don't think he will let it float! Hopefully he is smart enough to take the things Jeff George says to him with a grain of salt. We are excited to see how things progress with Jeff George mentoring Ponder, and our Vikings Football Home blog will keep you updated with all the news!

Adrian Peterson: having a gay teammate "really wouldn't bother me that much."

I was looking around the world wide web for some Vikings news for all my awesome readers and found a newspaper article on ESPN that is really relevant to our society. The Minnesota Vikings star running back, Adrian Peterson, told The Oklahoman on Monday that having a gay teammate "really wouldn't bother me that much."

Adrian Peterson said he would "still high-five them. Pat them on the butt when he's doing good, and go on about my business."

I think it is very respectable for Peterson to voice his views, in an admirable way, even though it may not be the popular opinion. It is often common for people with much fame to keep quiet about these kinds of things, so we are glad Adrian Peterson voiced his opinion!
