The Minnesota Vikings Quaterback Debate

Jake Locker and Ryan MallettThe 1st Round of the NFL Draft will begin on Thursday night, meaning tomorrow night. There is so much situations that the Minnesota Vikings could do. However, this post will focus solely on the quarteback options.

This is assuming Cam Newton and Blaine Gabbert are both gone by the #12 pick.

QB Possibilities, in the order that I hope we draft.
- Jake Locker
- Ryan Mallett
- Christian Ponder
- Andy Dalton
- Ricky Stanzi
- Colin Kaepernick

I'm still sold on Jake Locker. I think the kid just has a bright future in the NFL, he's a gamer. Mallett can throw the ball a mile, I think he has high upside even with his limited mobility. Ponder has high football IQ but nothing at Florida State told me he was a franchise quarterback, but what do I know. Dalton is a winner, but is he just a game manager? Stanzi had a great senior year but I think lacks the arm strength. Kaepernick can run, but we don't need another quarterback who can run.

Adrian Peterson Defeated for the Madden Cover 2012

Madden 2012EA Sports hosted a fan-voting tournament to see who would grace the cover of Madden 2012. The final four were: Adrian Peterson, Michael Vick, Peyton Hillis, and Aaron Rodgers. Maybe this isn't a bad thing after all though, as we all know "the Madden Curse." Either way - Vick received 59% to defeat AP. Peyton Hillis defeated Aaron Rodger's in the other semifinal setting up a Hillis vs. Vick final. I like both of these players, and it really shows the story of Vick's redemption from prison. Hillis is a white running back for the Cleveland Browns, who was traded from the Denver Broncos.

Will the Minnesota Vikings Take a Defensive Lineman?

Da'Quan BowersThe Star Tribune and Pioneer Press both reported yesterday that the Minnesota Vikings, if they do not trade back in the 1st round, will take a defensive lineman with the #12 overall pick. Scouts have been preaching that this draft has several top notch defensive lineman, including Robert Quinn from North Carolina, Marcell Dareus from Alabama, Nick Fairley from Auburn, and Da'Quan Bowers from Clemson. With Ray Edwards and Pat Williams most likely leaving via free agency, it leaves two vacant spots open for a rookie. I would not be surprised if we did draft a defensive lineman - as this spot is considered to have the most value, as opposed to taking Mallett or Locker, which would be for need.

Favorite Football Movie

Varsity BluesSince it's the offseason and the news isn't day to day as it would be during the season, I thought I'd ask fans of the site what their favorite football movie is. Mine would be Varsity Blues, followed by Friday Night Lights and the Blindside. Comment or post what your favorite football movie is!

Will Ryan Mallett Be a Minnesota Viking?

Ryan MallettAccording to several sources, the Minnesota Vikings are exploring the possibility of drafting Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett. Mallett is a 6'7 qb who can flat out sling the football. However the questions surrounding him are his leadership ability and his mobility. Could the Minnesota Vikings take him as high as pick 12? Will they trade down and take him later in the first? Do they think they will snag him in the 2nd round, since some outlets believe he will fall? There are multiple scenarios that could play out and it will be interesting to see if the Minnesota Vikings take Mr. Mallett.
