Surgery for Favre?

When Brett Favre took a big hit in the NFC Championships against New Orleans, he needed to be aided off the field but returned shortly after to finish the game – taped up ankle and all. Now, getting ready for the 2010 season, Favre is still deciding whether to come back to the game with surgery looming over his head as well. Surgery is the only way Favre would be able to return since the injury continues to be swollen and sore. Having the surgery means good things for the Vikings, since it’s a sure sign he’ll return.

A little gossip for a Vikings fan

So Jared Allen was out on the town with his girlfriend , and some idiot had the audacity of calling his girlfriend a VERY naughty word that does not need to be repeated. How dumb do you have to be to mess with Jared Allen's girlfriend?! For one: he is HUGE. For two: he has a MULLET. And three: He is a pro football player who could rip you in two pieces in one second. Lesson learned? Don't mess with an NFLer who is ready to fist dance.

A few re-signings for the Vikings

Offensive Lineman Ryan Cook, Defensive Tackle Fred Evans and Safety Eric Frampton have all been re-signed by the Minnesota Vikings as free agents. This will be Ryan Cook’s fifth season and is appealing to the Vikings for his versatility across the board on the offensive line. Last season, Cook played in all 16 of Minnesota Vikings games and has started 33 out of the first 38 in his NFL career. Fred Evans has proven to be a consistent player on the defensive roster since he began playing with the Minnesota Vikings in 2007. Eric Frampton is leading the Minnesota Vikings team with 53 special teams tackles over his three years with the team. With this much promising talent on the MN Vikings team, you should be sure not to miss out on a game this season because you won’t be disappointed.

New Stadium for the Vikings?

Have you heard? Apparently the Minnesota Vikings are close to getting a new stadium bill completed! This new stadium will cost anywhere around $870 million and may replace the Metrodome. This is such a great scenario for Vikings fans, because the location is great but the stadium has been looking a bit shabby for awhile. For the first few seasons or so, the Minnesota Vikings will presumably play at the TCF Bank Stadium on the U of M campus. It is unsure what amenities will be added to the stadium, like a retractable roof, but if we get this new stadium let's hope a Minnesota Super Bowl isn't far behind.

Vikings Preseason Schedule Set, Vikings Preseason Tickets Cheap

In follow-up to last weeks post about the Vikings regular season 2010 schedule, the Vikings pre-season schedule is "officially" set. The Vikings will start the 2010 NFL Preseason out on the road with a game against the St Louis Rams on August 14th and then another road game against the San Francisco 49ers on August 22. The final two pre-season games will be back at the Metrodome against the Seattle Seahawks and the Denver Broncos.

I know there is a large Denver Bronco fan base in Minnesota so I bet that game will sell out, but I wish it was the third pre-season game instead of the fourth because we all know that the Vikings starters rarely play more than a quarter in the last pre-season game. Vikings pre-season tickets are always cheap from ticket brokers so don't pay full price for a preseason game. I have bought tickets for $5 before. I am planning on going to the Vikings Broncos Sept. 2nd game and since the Twins are in town at Target Field, I bet Vikings tickets will be super cheap.

2010 Vikings Schedule Predictions already starting

Although the NFL has not yet released who any of the professional football teams will play for the 2010 NFL Season (regular season), there is a lot of speculations about who will be on the Vikings Schedule this fall. At some point in the season the Minnesota Vikings will play Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, Buffalo, Miami and Arizona at home… that comes from past/recent NFL rotations.

Based on that same data (from the Official Vikings Website) the Minnesota Vikings will then play Chicago, Detroit, Green Bay, Philadelphia, Washington, New England, the New York Jets and New Orleans away.

Now this is where the 2010 Vikings Schedule Speculation starts… online rumors and tips have led me to believe that the Minnesota Vikings First game of the 2010 Vikings Schedule will be against New Orleans. The Vikings Saints game is going to be HUGE this year and perhaps the NFL is planning on scheduling a Minnesota New Orleans showdown early to generate buzz for the rest of the season… or perhaps it is total rumor. One thing is for sure though, when the Vikings Saints game does happen it is going to be crazy big!
