Vikings Memories with the Metrodome

With the last Vikings game of the season all wrapped up, the era at Vikings Metrodome will be over.

When you ask football fans what they will remember most about the Metrodome, the top two answers generally are Gary Anderson's missed field goal for the Vikings in the NFC championship game in January of 1999 (still crying about that one) and the roof casually collapsing from the snow a few years ago.

You should also take a peek at the this article from CBS to continue to relive the Metrodome's most famous memories.

Vikings Coach Leslie Frazier Fired

It's hard to admire a coach when the losses keep piling up, which is how I feel about Leslie Frazier. The Vikings have fired Frazier today (Monday), which is one year after the the Vikings made the playoffs and one day after the Vikings finished a 5-10-1 season.

The Associated Press got a quote from safety Harrison Smith who said: "It's a harsh business. As a player, we all love coach Frazier, as a coach, as a man. You can't meet a better guy. And also as a player, we didn't make enough plays on the field. So you just feel like you let him down a little bit." I think that sums Leslie Fraizer up nicely.

Leslie Fraizer was hired by Brad Childress to be the defensive coordinator in 2007. Frazier also interviewed for seven head coach openings over a three-year span: Atlanta and Miami in 2008, Denver, Detroit and St. Louis in 2009, and Buffalo and Seattle in 2010. His opportunity came with the Vikings when Childress was fired in the middle of a messy 2010 season.

We can't wait to what the new coach of the Vikings will do next season!

Vikings Adrian Peterson Update

Need your daily dose of Minnesota Vikings news? Well, Vikings running back Adrian Peterson was held out of practice as a precaution yesterday, on Thursday, because of lingering groin and foot injuries, but he is expected to play Sunday at Cincinnati, according to coach Leslie Frazier.

We all know Adrian Peterson did not play in the victory over Philadelphia because of a sprained right foot. However, he practiced Wednesday despite being listed on the week's initial injury report with an additional groin issue. We hope you heal up soon, Peterson, we need you for these last two games!!

Vikings Beat the Bears!

Finally some good news for Vikings fans everywhere! The Minnesota Vikings won against the Chicago Bears this past Sunday with a 23-20 win at the Metrodome in Minneapolis.

How did they do it? Well Adrian Peterson carried the football 35 times for 211 yards and Blair Walsh kicked a 34-yard field goal in overtime. Thanks, boys, we needed that! This was Peterson's fifth career 200-yard game which helped him surpass 10,000 yards for his career in just 101 games, third fastest to do it behind Eric Dickerson and Jim Brown. Congrats, Peterson! Thanks for doing something right.

The game was fantastic and Vikings fans everywhere are too excited about the win.

Vikings Beat Redskings on National TV... And it was Great

The Minnesota Vikings finally got a win in during the regular season in the United States and this blogger couldn't be happier!

The Metrodome was crazy as the Vikings pulled out a win against the Redskins. The final score was 34-27 and it was a great game. I hope you didn't miss it, because if you missed the Vikings only home winning game, well, we can't be friends anymore....

The Vikings are now 2-7 (remember that game they won in London? Yeah, us either) and are looking to keep advancing their record.

And don't forget to watch the Vikings on the 17th as they play the Seahawks.

Vikings Packer Game Review

The Vikings Packer rivalry is always a fun time. People cheering, fans getting into the game and there is always more than enough friendly banter between Vikings and Packers.

Unfortunatly for the Vikings and their true fans, the Packers scored a 44-31 win over the Vikings on Sunday night. This win kept the Packers in first place in the NFC North. I had a chance to make it to the game and loved every second of it! The crowd, the Vikings fans, the beer and the game was all fantastic. My favorite part of the game was the first few minutes when on the opening kickoff in the Metrodome, Vikings rookie Cordarrelle Patterson turned it up with a 109-yard return for a touchdown.

Although we are all upset about the rivalry loss, there is another chance for the Vikings to beat the Packers. The Green Bay Packers play the Minnesota Vikings on Sun, Nov 24 2013 at 12:00 PM in Lambeau Field in Green Bay, WI. And in the mean time, go Vikes, go!
