Adrian Peterson No. 8 in Players Poll

Our very own AP was the highest-ranked back among the most-represented offensive position in the year's NFL Top 100 players poll.

The honor comes after a season in which he didn't quite reach the 1000-yard mark for the first time in his five-year career. Peterson was limited to 12 games in the 2011-12 season.

Peterson was ranked No. 3 in the poll last year.

Known for his unwavering and intense work ethic, Peterson is on pace to return for the 2012 season opener on September 9 after knee surgery in December.

Congratulations to Adrian Peterson! Way to represent the Minnesota Vikings in a positive light!

Vikings' Jerome Simpson Suspended

The NFL has suspended Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jerome Simpson for the first three games of the 2012 season, punishing him for a felony drug conviction tied to a marijuana shipment to his home last fall.

The Vikings are especially good at picking up gentlemen. That's for sure.

Buy hey, who cares, right? They are here to play football, not to be the 'boys next door'.

Metrodome Photos

I recently went around Minneapolis, St. Paul and a few of the surrounding suburbs to take photos of all the great venues! I took pictures of 24 total venues.

I just realized my Metrodome shots aren't all that great. I need to snap some of the plaza! I'm going back tomorrow to get some better ones. Until then, enjoy!

Percy Harvin Missing OTAs

Percy Harvin made an appearance at the organized team activities, but has yet to participate.

Recall, Harvin is recovering from a minor shoulder surgery he had on April 24. The surgery's purpose was to clean out bone spurs. Harvin isn't expected to miss much time.

Also missing from OTA participation is another Vikings' star, Adrian Peterson. AP is still rehabbing from his torn ACL.

Vikings ball is right around the corner. Don't miss your chance to score some great tickets!

Asher Allen retires from the NFL

Most people would think playing professional football would be living the dream. But on Wednesday, the news came out that Asher Allen had retired, leaving most people rather surprised. Even coach Leslie Frazier had been surprised by Allen's decision to leave the NFL.

Allen's only 24 and has only played three seasons, this could have been his last with the Vikings since his rookie contract runs out at the end of the season. Admittedly he hasn't ended his past seasons well, he's suffered concussions the last two seasons. But since he hasn't said he's leaving for health reasons, he's left a lot of Vikings fans scratching their heads. I know that he wouldn't have made this decision without thinking it through, but I'm still confused and can't wait to hear his explanation for leaving the NFL.
